Have grown to truly appreciate and understand e-commerce (the instant feedback, fast-paced nature and technology-components). My background is in consulting (strategy & process improvement), business development and leadership in fast-paced environments.

I have been part of scaling the Dutch/Belgium #1 e-Commerce company from EUR 250 million to a EUR multi-billion company. Learned a lot from being part of both the strategic decision-making as the hands-on building and leading of multiple businesses (e.g., entry of new markets, B2B, MarketPlace, Logistical business models). At Vivecommrece have had the pleasure to support our clients with strategy, commercial due diligences and ad interim CEO/managing director roles.

Partner at Vivecommerce (2021 – onwards)

Vivecommerce is specialised in e-commerce, tech, retail and fast growing businesses. Part of our time and income is spend on not for profit initiatives.

We seek partnerships with our clients with the philosophy that what you invest in us gets at least a 6-fold return. If an assignment does not have that potential, we will not start the engagement. We perform best on multi-faceted challenges, where clarity on root causes are lost. We will help you solve your challenges with your own team or assign you an specific expert.

Our roles include those of Interim Executive, advisor to the board, Industry Expert, and hands-on growth support.

Director Strategy & Business Development at bol.com (2017 – 2020)

Supported bol.com’s growth from €250 mln in 2012 to >€4 bln in 2020. In this role I reported to the CMO, was frequent sparring partner to the board and its CEO. Responsible for strategy (incl. M&A, proposition and market research) and incubation of new business models.

Team size >40 FTE, excluding multidisciplinary teams of up to 100+ people per business model depending on maturity-level.

  • Forging strategic partnership and closing distribution contracts (3-year accumulative value +340 m) for ‘Verzenden via bol.com’

  • Responsible for B2B customers and gift card business (top-line +300 m, >35% YOY growth)

  • Introduction and growth of a bol.com’s subscription model Select to >500k subscribers

  • Introduction and growth of market-leading last-mile services such as same-day delivery , Sunday delivery (BE) and instant returns

  • Introduction of bol.com in the French region of Belgium (Wallonia)

Director Marketplace Product & B2B at bol.com (2016 – 2017)

Reporting to CMO and responsible for the marketplace product (>25k sellers) and B2B businesses

  • Improve and launch propositions, features and services that make selling easier and grow consumer sales and/or seller satisfaction

  • Create and deliver “service by partners” a method for partners to deliver own ‘monitored’ customer service (cost-saving of >10 m EBIT for bol.com)

  • Product management and incubation of Logistics via bol.com

  • Spokesperson to business, press and host/speaker
